Sognefjord in a Nutshell from Oslo

Train journey with the Bergen Railway, which includes the highest stretch of train tracks in northern Europe. Starting in Oslo you can enjoy the changing scenery over the mountain plateau up to 1222 m.a.s.l, blue ice glacier and mountain lakes. After about 5 hours you arrive at Myrdal and change train to the breathtaking Flåm Railway. From 866 m.a.s.l, down the Flåm Valley with it’s impressive waterfalls to Flåm (approx. 1 hour).
From Flåm take the express boat on the Sognefjord and see the charming fjord villages along the fjord, the scenic islands and coastline to Bergen.
Return back to Oslo with the Bergen Railway.

When starting in Oslo or Bergen we suggest accommodation in Flåm, Aurland, Lærdal, Gudvangen or Stalheim.
